WidgetBucks is not quite new but is worth a mention as a lot of people seems to be happy with it. Personally it is complementing my Adsense income by atleast $ 50-100 per month.

This initiative is owned by the Seattle-based Mpire.

Widget bucks is a CPC contextual advertising network (which means that they pay for every ad click) launched last year on 2nd October.

Their Ad code displays a shopping widget which shows shopping items as per your widget preference.

You can either choose a topic for your widget or let them serve the ads as per the content of your site.

The merchandise you see it your widgets are extracted from the portfolio of about 30K retailers, including the biggest retailers like Amazon, WalMart, and many more.

You can choose your widget display in the following niche:

* Video Games
* Sports and Outdoors
* Musical Instruments
* Media
* Kids and Family
* Jewelry and Watches
* Home and Garden
* Health and Beauty
* Camera and Photo
* Electronics
* Computers
* Clothing and Accessories
* Cars
* Green Living

It doesn’t really matter if you site does not cover the following niche as they seem to be attracting clicks even on my non related sites. Have a few widgets up on a low traffic bike site and it does manage to get some click attention.

p.s. My “Women Lingerie” (Clothing and Accessories) widget seems to be getting the most click, irrespective of the topic of my site. You need not worry as there is nothing adult about it.

The also have a referral plan where in you earn 5% (they started with 10% to begin with) of the income earned by the people who you have referred to the network. This commission plan ceases after 12 months have passed from the date of the referral.

As this program is comparatively new and people seems to be happy with it, I would suggest that you make use of their referral program as its easier to sell referral for products that are popular at the beginning.

I myself have made a few bucks in their referral program.

Coming to the payment options, you can either get paid via check or paypal after 45 days from the month end but you need to reach the minimum payout of $50 in earnings.

CPC programs as more interesting to join as it is easy to convert.

At the moment they are claiming to see a CPM of $3-$6, which actually can be better than your Adsense CPM.

(CPM means the commission you make on ad clicks, for ever 1000 times the ad is viewed)

This could well be an option for people who are looking for an Adsense alternative or who are looking to further monetize their site traffic.

Also, you can use both Adsense and WidgetBucks at the same time without any complications or threat of getting banned.

To sum it up in three steps. You sign up, customize your widget and publish the ad code to start making money.
