A must use program for sites with good traffic and webmasters looking for free content.

Today I get a chance to review one of the most promising ad networks that works well with site having good traffic.

Voxant Newsroom

I will give my earning status with them soon as I myself joined them yesterday and have there content up on two of my sites.

The Concept

The Voxant newsroom is the premiere online news site of Voxant’s New Media Network. They are trying to build their business by providing distribution channels for content providers and advertisers. Voxant distributes and promotes news from more than 200 credible, licensed content sources.

In a nutshell, they pay us webmasters to display content of their advertisers.

What do we gain (webmasters)?

1. We can make money for displaying their ads.

2. Create relevant content for our websites.

3. With more content we can attract more visitors.

This is what they claim are the benefits for us.

Having a look at their system, I really liked the fact that I could choose the content that I would like to be displayed and also the fact that the quality of the content was no pushover. Their network affiliates include CBS, the Wall Street Journal, the Associated Press (AP), Reuters, MTV, NHL, AFP, and HowStuffWorks, as well as a variety of website publishers and bloggers.

This was attractive enough for me to join in.

Compensation Plan ?

Now this is very interesting.

They are not the conventional PPC or the CPA networks. They have 3 kinds of content format (you will need to embed a widget code for displaying it), namely video, text and image stories.

They have a CPM payment structure for the publishers:

To explain it better, they have a flat rate of payment and you get paid for all your site visitors.

However, for the video content to be counted as eligible for payment, the visitor will have to click the play button.

And for the text and image new content, you get paid for every impression (each time the news content is displayed).

Please note that each item is accounted for separately so if you have a video and a text article on your site you will be paid for each as described above. We recognize all websites are different and do not put an explicit limit on the number of items you can put on a page, however, we recommend no more than 3 items per page. Pages with more than 3 items are reviewed by our fraud team for possible violation of our Member Agreement, which requires viewers having a genuine interest in the content.

So if you have 3 news content with ads displayed, then you are eligible for payment for all the three. In case of video news content the play button needs to be clicked for it to be counted as an ad impression.

Reporting Tools

This might be one of the most primitive reporting tools I have seen as there are not many filter options for checking out different kinds of stats. (but perfect for people who hate clutter and like things simple, that’s me)

From their site:

Payments are made based on ad impressions. If you have more than one website, we combine them all for you into one view on myRevenue. Video assets and video feed assets are counted towards revenue when the play button is clicked and the ad begins on your site or the referred site (a site who embedded content from your site). Text and images are paid when the image is drawn or rendered on your site with an accompanying ad. If you’ve earned $50 or more by the last day of the month, we’ll issue you a check. We cut checks within 30 days following the last day of the month in which it was earned. Checks will be in U.S. currency only and will be in physical check form.

Your revenue information is uploaded daily before midnight Eastern Standard Time.

At the moment I cannot seem to find their direct affiliate program, wherein, I get credit for referring people to their network. Have sent an e-mail to their support and now I am waiting for their response. Will update you all on that.

Ok, I just got a reply from support

Our referral system is the embed button! Put the content on your site and encourage people to embed from your site. You get a bonus CPM for anyone who embeds from your site.

We do not currently have a referral program for new people who sign up for Voxant from your recommendation.

What kind of sites will benefit the most ?

As they play a flat rate for every 1000 impression, it would be best for sites with good traffic.

I personally am expecting to earn a few hundred dollars from their network. (I have a cumulative of more than half a million page views every month on my site network and growing)

Also, if you have a little less traffic on your sites then you could use them for content. Trust me they have some pretty good stuff.
