Getting started with Affiliate Marketing
To begin with, let me confess that I s**k when it come to affiliate marketing.
My affiliate earnings are pretty low (excluding the webmaster program referrals) and I am working hard on changing that.
If you are new to affiliate marketing, then to sum it all up, Affiliate marketing is one, wherein, you are paid a fixed/percentage commission on the income you are able to generate for an advertiser via your marketing efforts.
You link, your site visitor clicks on the link, they sign up or buy something on the clicked site and you get paid a fixed amount or a percentage of the income generated for the advertiser.
Now this post is all about building your own affiliate store in just a matter of minutes and making money out of it.
I would suggest that you initially add an affiliate store to your existing site to get the feel of it.
So we will now learn to create an Amazon affiliate store with a free script.
Amazon has an affiliate program, wherein, you can sell their products and earn a percentage in commission.
The reason why I choose them first, is because they have the largest portfolio of consumer good and so we can work with choice.
You will have to join their affiliate program to begin with. (Join Amazon Associates)
They do not have any restrictions for joining their affiliate program and all you have to do is fill up a brief application form with some details.
You can check their commission rates here: Associates Compensation
Now that we an affiliate account, we will need to use a script for setting up our affiliate store. The good thing is that we have a very beautiful script for just that, and it’s free.
Visit the Associate-O-Matic site and download the lite version of the script. (However, I would recommend that you to buy the advanced version of the script once you have earned enough money).
Upload and install the script on your webhost and you are ready to go. Installation is a breeze and a just a few easy steps.
Once you have installed the script, login to the admin panel to setup your own affiliate store.
Setting up the initial store setting is easy, but can be a little tricky.
The beauty of this script is that you can specialize in a particular niche and house products of a particular category to match with your site niche.
This is the store I setup on one of my blogs: Buy Digital Cameras and here is the income I generated in the last 2 months.

Not bad, considering the fact that I didn’t put any effort in promoting my store.
So if you would also like to monetize your website traffic, then I would suggest that you try this out.
Not getting into the details as then this would become a very long post, but if you need any help from me then just leave me a comment.
As far as I am concerned, I am already ready with two new stores to start making money with. TV Guide Shop :: Action Figures
Some recommendation:
* Start with first setting up an affiliate store at your existing website. I would recommend that your build a new website for your affiliate store only once you are happy with it’s performance.
* Remember to try an maintain a niche within your store. Having everything on display might distract your potential customer. Try to match the theme of your store to your main site.
* Remember to attract the attention of your website visitors but placing an attractive banner for your store at a very visible place on your homepage.
* If you decide to start your site on a new domain, remember to choose keyword domains. (Domain names having keywords) For researching purpose you can use the Keyword Suggestion Tool to estimate keyword popularity.
* Do a little bit of link building for your store, as Search Engine traffic will ensure profitability of your store. If you are low on budget, start with free web diretory submissions.
Hope this was helpful and you enjoy your own online store.

Affiliate marketing can bring in lots of money if it is sone in the right way. Setting up an affiliate program might be easy but then bringing in visitors and directing them to the product is the basic trick. Well to be honest i tried this a few months ago and had done fairly if not too good.
