Yes, I am cynical

21 Feb

So I too decided to join Project Wonderful and was pretty happy when my site got approved to participate in their marketplace.I was in a hurry to start selling ad space on my sites and like any other webmaster I was pretty excited to be able to monetize the extra space on my sites.

But within a few hours, I removed their ad code as something was bothering me.

I suddenly realized that one of my most guarded secret (I don’t even share this with my advertisers) was out in display and I was not so comfortable with that.

For all Project Wonderful publishers, a detailed stats page is created, wherein, you will find all the possible stats related to your site on which you are selling PW ads.

I was not so happy to see my traffic referrals as that is one thing that can be easily used by a competitor to gain an advantage over my site.

I have a few traffic source that I would not like to disclose and the fact that everyone could see it did not please me.

So Project Wonderful is in the selves for me at the moment, I have sent a support ticket to see if I can turn off that particular stat display. (Will update you on the reply I receive)
I know I sound a bit cynical, but with some sources sending me a couple of thousand visitors in free traffic, I prefer to take guard.

However, I would stress that Project Wonderful is a great way to monetize your sites.

You might want to try them, here are some Project Wonderful testimonials that you can read.

(Highly recommended for webmaster who are not in a position to directly search for client to advertise on their sites)

Problem Solved (Hats Off for a Great Response Time):

Hi Kiviniar,

When you block the referrer what we do is treat them as if they arrived
without telling us where they came from. In other words, we’ll still be
reporting them as hits etc.

So your other stats will be the same as if you hadn’t blocked the
domains from displaying.

Voxant, the numbers are in

I have had them for exactly 12 days and now that I crossed a small milestone, I thought it best to share my earning stats.

Voxant is the best CPM network that I have joined and if you have a site with good traffic then I would highly recommend them to you.

I am running their widgets on three sites and I am almost at $10 per day and hope to push that to $30 per day now that I plan to use them on my other sites too.

The only disadvantage with Voxant widgets is that they need quite a lot of space.

But if you can accommodate them like I  did then it will work very well.

Voxant pays a flat rate based on CPM (per thousand impressions) and also for their text and image content widgets, you donot need any kind of clicks to generate a commission.

You can read my initial review here:  Voxant Newsroom

On my program rating scale I have give them a 5/5

These stats are for 6-17th Feb

I do a lot of searching while I am building or enhancing my sites and many time I don’t get to share the good things that I have been useful to me.

Review: Smorty

Filed under: Cash Cow, Paid Blogging — Tags: , , , — kiviniar

Blog Advertising - Get Paid to BlogThis is another one of the blog advertising networks where bloggers can earn some money by reviewing their favorite products and services.

Smorty is one of the few paid blogging networks that I have worked with and would like to share my experiences and observations that I have made in due course of time.

Smorty might not be as popular as some other paid blogging networks but can provide one with a decent number of opportunities in paid reviews.

The requirements:

* Your blog should be indexed in the SEs and should be atleast 3 months old

* You should have an archive with atleast 2 post a week ratio

* The usual, no hate, adult, kind of blogs.

Something that everyone would like to know

How does my page rank affect my income?
Smorty has a unique blogger ranking system. There are two factors affecting your income, firstly, if you have a higher Google Page Rank you will be offered higher paying campaigns as well as the lower paid campaigns. This will start at $6 and go up to around $60 for some campaigns. Secondly, Smorty’s calculates it’s own smart score system, it’s created by combining the following factors 1) Googles PageRank, 2) Alexa Rankings, 3) Return rate of given tasks 4) Approval/Decline ratio of completed tasks and 5) Number of completed tasks. If you have a higher Smorty score, you are more likely to receive more campaign offers and more higher priced campaigns. You can earn up to even $100 per article on some occasions.

At the moment Smorty might not be pouring with opportunities but I have made $5 - $20 per week with my lesser blogs (I guess if you are not lazy like me and check the opportunities more frequently you can make more).

But nevertheless having a decent PR help. (For me a decent PR would be starting at a PR3)

But don’t worry, for one thing I can guarantee is that as soon as you are approved you will have atleast three opportunities worth a total of $18 USD.

Also, please note that you will only see the opportunities that are available to you in your dashboard.

Some additional things to remember once you are a member
* You get paid weekly via Paypal

* No disclosure required

* You review should contain atleast 150 words and should not exceed 400 words.

So keeping with the rules, I end here. ;-)

I recommend that you join them: Sign up for Smorty

Not going to make million but a few extra bucks paid weekly sure helps.

Review: EntreCard

Filed under: Website Promotion — Tags: , — kiviniar

Blogosphere is already witnessing an EntreCard craze with many bloggers participation in this social advertising network.

This review is quite late but as it’s been a lot of fun for me (I joined in yesterday), I just wanted to talk about it for the benefit of the people who are yet to join.

What is EntreCard?

To simply put it, EntreCard is a free social advertising network for bloggers where they get a chance to run a little free advertising campaigns on other blogs within the network.

Advertising space is shared via a 125*125 banner with the EntreCard widget.

So to participate in the free advertising you will need to install the EntreCard widget to begin with. You can see mine at the sidebar.

As in any economy, the virtual currency that you will need to survive and transact within this network is called EntreCard Credits.
